When it comes to magical memories, it's hard to beat Newport Beach. There is magic in the air from the first light of dawn, when bare toes dip into the cold morning ocean as little eyes search for shells, until the evening southern California sun hangs low in the sky, casting a warm glow on smiling faces.
Days here are lazy, spent soaking up sunshine, building and excavating sand monuments, playing chicken with the waves, chasing sea birds, and walking, hand-in-hand, along beachfront homes and shops, listening to the rhythmic crashing of the waves and the distant cry of the gulls.
Happy memories are made as we play together in the sand, traverse the jetty, walk to the pier, visit Lido Island, take the ferry to Balboa, ride the Carousel at the Fun Zone, watch the waves at the Wedge, take in the sunset, and at last, after our energy is spent, as we cram into the little beach house for bedtime.
