About This Image: Perched high in an unscalable cliff, the haunting visage of Skull Arch peers down into Raven Canyon, home to the blue-black birds for which it is named, as well as marmots, mice, rabbits, and other animals who come to quench thirst at one of the only reliable watering holes in the Fiery Furnace--a perfectly round pothole, about five feet across and no more than twelve inches deep, which has a knack for capturing and holding the runoff from winter snows and summer thunderstorms.
